I am an experienced expressive and relational therapist with specialized training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care. This training focuses on bonding and attachment and encourages the identification of patterns in all of our relationships, but especially the closest ones. Through them I am able to lead clients in taking steps to create more secure bonds and develop safety and trust which makes relationships healthier and more positive. I am also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. Life experiences are multi-dimensional and can be relational, visual, auditory, and physical as well as verbal. In order to best meet the needs of my clients and provide them with understanding and support, I utilize both traditional counseling techniques as well as creative processes. I believe that building a strong relationship with my clients is essential to treatment. This involves open communication and collaboration between client and therapist to develop goals. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is comfortable and safe, allows room for humor and creativity, and focuses on client strengths. Through the therapeutic relationship, I hope to provide; support, encouragement, open dialog, respect at all times, understanding, nurturing, modeling of healthy boundaries and challenges when necessary. I enjoy supporting children, adolescents, couples and families. My practice focuses on work with people of any age struggling with communication and development of healthy, supportive relationships.Continue Reading
